All Information given to the agency by people about their problems is kept completely confidential. Under the provisions of the Privacy Act information being collected by CSF will be held securely and no one can contact the agency and obtain information about another person without that person’s full authorisation. You have the right of access to, and alteration of, incorrect personal information concerning yourself in accordance with the Privacy Act.
If you would like to contact a trained community worker about a particular personal problem you can
phone. email, write or call
in to the agency.
When a person visits or phones the agency for assistance with a crisis, it is important that their situation is assessed correctly so that the appropriate support can be given. Specially trained community workers speak to the person about his or her problem and then, with the person’s permission, arrange for any necessary support to be provided.
The agency can directly provide or organise a range of assistance for people in crisis. Services include:
People who need to discuss their crisis situation immediately, can visit or phone and speak to one of the agency’s trained community workers without delay.
If a person requires ongoing counselling with a complex personal problem, an appointment can be arranged for them with a professional counsellor.
The agency will provide people with assistance in negotiating with a Government department, financial institution, a landlord, etc.
Victims of Crime
Information and support can be provided to people who have been victims of crime.
Emergency Financial Help
Subject to eligibility, (see below), help can be provided to Frankston City residents in the form of food parcels, supermarket food vouchers, essential travel costs, essential medication expenses, costs of emergency accommodation and assistance in obtaining other basic living essentials. An appointment will be required.
Help is available through the agency for people experiencing physical, verbal, emotional or threatened violence.
Eligibility for Emergency Relief
You must be a resident of Frankston City to be eligible for Emergency Relief assistance. People residing outside this area should contact emergency relief providers in their own municipality.
ASSISTANCE IS NEVER GIVEN OUT IN CASH.
