Men’s Shed primary activity is woodwork. It gives members the use of equipment not normally found in home workshops. Most Men’s Shed members are either semi or fully retired so they bring a wide range of vocational knowledge and a lifetime of training.
The Shed offers the opportunity for men to share skills and life experiences while learning from others.
For some, the Shed offers a respite from isolation and alleviates the loneliness and depression that can sometimes accompany retirement, bereavement or other life changing events such as accident or debilitating illness.
The age group for the Shed is 18 years to 100 years. The concept is an activity to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
